Freestanding Bathtub Shipping & Freight Delivery

Free Freight to All 48 States

Every Gramans freestanding bathtub ships free by freight carrier to the 48 contiguous United States. No surcharges, no oversized-item fees, no surprises at checkout.

A bathtub is not a parcel. It travels on a pallet, on a truck, and it arrives differently from anything else you've bought online. Most retailers leave you to discover that on delivery day. We'd rather tell you now, because a delivery you're prepared for is a delivery that goes well — and because there are two minutes on that day that matter more than anything else in this process.

How Your Tub Is Packed

Freight moves through multiple terminals and gets handled at every one. We pack for that reality, not for a gentle journey.

  • Protective film across the entire acrylic surface, inside and out. Leave it on until installation is finished — most scratches happen during the install, not before it.
  • Rigid corner posts running the full height of every corner. Trailers are loaded in stacks, and the posts carry the weight of everything above your tub straight down to the pallet, so the shell never holds anything up. They also take the corner hits from forklifts and dock edges, and spread the banding tension so the load can be strapped tight without shifting.
  • Double-wall corrugated carton, sized to the tub rather than a stock box, so nothing moves inside it.
  • Wooden pallet base, so forklifts and pallet jacks never touch the tub itself.
  • Banding straps and stretch wrap pulling carton, posts, and pallet into one rigid unit.
  • Drain and hardware boxed separately inside the carton, so loose metal can never contact the acrylic.

None of this is decorative. Carriers are entitled to deny a damage claim if they determine goods were inadequately packed for the transit method, and that defence is common in freight precisely because shipments change hands so many times. We pack to remove the argument.

Where We Ship

We ship to: all 48 contiguous United States.

We don't currently ship to: Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US territories, PO boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or internationally.

If you're outside our delivery area and you want a Gramans tub, email us. We can't promise anything, but we'll tell you honestly whether there's a way.

What Happens After You Order

1. Processing — 1 business day. We confirm your order, inspect the tub, and book the freight.

2. Shipping confirmation. You receive tracking and the carrier's name.

3. The carrier calls you. This is the part people don't expect. Freight carriers do not simply turn up — they contact you to arrange a delivery appointment, usually a window of a few hours on a chosen day. If you haven't heard from them within 7 business days of your shipping confirmation, contact us with your order number and we'll chase it.

4. Transit — 3-5 business days from dispatch, depending on distance.

5. Delivery. An adult signature is required. Please read the next section before this day arrives.

What Curbside Delivery Means

Your tub arrives on a pallet, on a freight truck, with one driver.

The driver will: bring the pallet to your curb or the end of your driveway, and lower it to ground level with a liftgate

The driver will not: carry it inside, take it upstairs, bring it to the bathroom, unpack it, remove the pallet, or take away packaging.

This is standard for all palletized freight and applies to every retailer, not just us. Plan for two able-bodied people on delivery day, or book a handyman for the appointment window. A packaged freestanding tub is more awkward than it is heavy, but wide and unwieldy.

Measure your path before delivery day. Doorways, hallway corners, stairwell turns. Tubs are usually carried on their side, so width and height matter more than length. Every dimension you need is on the product page. Once the tub is inside, see our Freestanding Bathtub Installation Guide for installation requirements and preparation.

Delivery Day: Inspect Before You Sign

This is the most important section on this page. It takes two minutes and it protects your entire order.

When you sign the delivery receipt, you are making a legal statement that the shipment arrived in good condition. Signing a clean receipt can make a freight damage claim significantly more difficult, because the carrier may treat the signature as evidence that the shipment arrived without visible damage.

You are entitled to inspect before you sign. Do it.

The four steps

1. Photograph the pallet before anything is moved. Ideally while it's still on the truck. Get the whole pallet, all four sides, and the shipping label.

2. Look at the outside of the carton. Crushed corners, punctures, tears, water staining, broken banding, a pallet with a cracked or splintered board. Any of it counts.

3. If anything looks wrong, open it and check the tub. Cut the wrap and the carton and inspect the acrylic itself before signing. Photograph whatever you find. If a driver tells you there isn't time, ask them to wait — and if they refuse, write that refusal on the delivery receipt.

4. Write the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign.

That last step is the one that matters, and how you write it matters too.

Be specific. "Damaged" is close to useless in a claim. Describe what you actually see:

"Carton crushed along right side, approximately 12 inches. Opened and inspected — 2-inch chip on tub rim, near drain end. Photographs taken at delivery."

Don't write "subject to inspection." It feels like it preserves your rights. It doesn't — carriers routinely treat it as noting nothing at all.

Then sign. With the exception noted, signing is fine.

Should you accept it or refuse it?

What you're looking at What to do
Packaging damage, tub looks fine Accept. Note the packaging damage specifically on the receipt, photograph it, email us within 48 hours
Minor damage to the tub — a chip, a scuff, a small crack Accept, with the damage described on the receipt. We'll arrange a replacement. Accepting keeps the evidence at your address
Tub is badly broken, or the pallet has clearly been dropped Refuse the shipment. Write the reason on the receipt, photograph everything, and call us the same day

When in doubt, accept and note it. A noted exception preserves everything; a refusal without documentation preserves nothing.

After You Report Damage

Email team@gramansbathware.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number, your photographs, and a copy or photo of the signed delivery receipt.

Then:

  • We handle the carrier claim. You don't file anything, you don't negotiate with the carrier, and you don't chase anyone.
  • We arrange a replacement at no cost to you. No return freight, no restocking fee, no deduction.
  • Keep everything until we tell you otherwise — the tub, the carton, the foam, the pallet, all of it. Carriers have the right to inspect, and discarding the packaging before they do is one of the fastest ways to lose a claim.

Freight damage is a shipping problem, not a return. We treat it as ours.

If You Find Damage After the Driver Has Gone

This is called concealed damage, and it does happen — a hairline crack under intact foam, an impact that left no mark on the carton.

Report it to us within 48 hours of delivery. Carrier rules generally allow around five business days from delivery to notify them of concealed damage, and every day beyond that makes the claim harder — the carrier's argument is always that the damage happened at your house. Concealed damage claims are won on three things: packaging that was clearly intact, a damage pattern consistent with transit handling, and prompt discovery.

Which leads to the one thing we'd ask of you:

Unpack and inspect the day it arrives, even if installation is months away. Don't set the crate in the garage and open it in October. Check it, photograph it, then re-wrap it and store it. If something's wrong, we want to know while we can still do something about it.
